In today\u2019s digital age, tiendas de comestibles<\/a> \u2014 and most all retail stores for that matter \u2014 are increasingly reliant on technology to manage inventory, process transactions, and ensure smooth operations.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, with this reliance comes the ever-growing threat of cyberattacks or malfunctions. And nowhere is this more evident than in the recent CrowdStrike cyber event, where the vulnerabilities that exist within even the most secure systems were exposed.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The trickle-down effect was pure chaos<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The global outage crashed millions of systems around the world \u2014 this includes grocery stores, where the \u201cblue-screen of death\u201d at many retailer self-checkout kiosks<\/a> forced consumers to use only cash and caused lines for human-run registers to grow and grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In turn, stores were forced to make a major decision \u2014 go cash or close the store and go home until the systems were back up and running again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For grocery stores, the potential fallout from a major cyber event, or even a targeted cyber-attack \u2014 can be devastating, ranging from operational disruptions to loss of customer trust.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
